Bio:

As someone who is always looking for a challenge, I found Peace Corps to be both rewarding and challenging. Having served in the Marine Corps in my younger years, I thought that Peace Corps would be a piece of cake...Boy was I wrong. There is no comparing the two. Each have there own unique demands. But I feel fortunate to probably be one of the proud few who have served in both...After graduating from Stephen F. Austin State University, I travelled to the Fiji Islands to serve as a community health Volunteer. It was here I honed the skills previously learned during my college studies...Fiji offered many exciting opportunities for cultural exchange as well as creating and participating in many health promotion programs. I would go on to serve as a Peace Corps Response Volunteer in Liberia, West Africa during the first half of 2010. This assignment proved to be very demanding and tested my ability to adapt and be flexible to the limit...But the third time is the charm. With the 50th anniversary of Peace Corps approaching, I have made one of my goals to serve during this time. I am set to tackle a new response assignment in Bulgaria starting in January of 2011...Happy Anniversary Peace Corps!!!

ps. Pictured here with the Chief of my host village, I am the guy on the right wearing what appears to be a "skirt"... It is actually called a pocket sulu...
