    Another Sunday morning expedition on foot with Bu S, this time to the local landfill. I had run by it once when I first arrived here, not yet aware of the taboo of unaccompanied female joggers. Bu S suggested it as an interesting place to visit and a chance to meet people whose paths I might not otherwise cross.   1. Indonesia A Wave of Prayer

    morning prayer at the islamic high school where i teach, just before sacrificing 2 cows in our school yard.  later that day, the students distributed the meat to the poor. eid al-adha is celebrated around the world by muslims to commemorate abraham's willingness to sacrifice his son.  as a non-muslim, i watched from behind with the girls who were menstruating and therefore could not participate.

    The hours long preperation before the traditional marriage ceremony- no less than three people were working on her at any given time.
