Bio:
Becky Bartlein received her MPH from the Department of Global Health at the UW School of Public Health in the Leadership, Policy and Management track. She is interested in the integration of pharmacovigilance programs into comprehensive, functional health systems. Her interests include the nexus between conflict and health, and prevention and preparedness activities to mitigate the health effects of crises.

Lost in the woods
This photo was taken on my third day at my site. I was terrified of these crazed, machete and stick-wielding tree-men (called gangurans in Mandinka), who run around the village threatening to beat children as they scream and run away. My host family egged me on to get this photo.
