Volunteer: Britta Hansen

I served as an agriculture extension volunteer in Bolivia from 07 to 08. I worked with a female beekeepers organization and taught nutrition and gardening in Paredones, a rural community of 100 or so families. After we were evacuated from Bolivia I went on to serve with PC Response in Lofa Country Liberia from 09 to 2010, where I worked with the Ministry of Education to coordinate school feeding and parent teacher associations. I am currently back in Bolivia working on my Masters project in agriculture development and project evaluation.

  1. Liberia Fishing in Lofa

This is a photo of a neighbor girl who was out waist deep in the lagoon fishing with her grandmother, she came upon this nest and brought it out of the reeds to show me. The sun was setting and everything came out better than I could have planned.
